Electrovacuum heating elements

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Физика сериясы, 2019
Improving the efficiency of heat supply systems for buildings and structures in the current trends in the global development of energy saving cannot be fully realized without the introduction of high-tech and low-energyintensive electrical equipment ...

Miniature radiation dosimeter for in vivo radiation measurements

open access: yesInternational Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, 1986
We have made initial characterization measurements on a miniature radiation dosimeter which can be used for in vivo radiation measurements. It consists of a radiation sensing field effect transistor (RADFET) mounted in a 0.8 mm OD plastic catheter. The RADFET acts as a dosimeter by storing trapped charge proportional to absorbed dose. The stored charge

Insights into a long life without cancer: The case of the bowhead whale

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Long‐lived, large‐bodied organisms have evolved powerful anticancer mechanisms that preserve cellular and tissue integrity across extended lifespans. A recent study by Firsanov et al. shows that greater genome stability is a key factor underlying the remarkable longevity and cancer resistance of one such species, the bowhead whale.

Studi Eksperimen Pengaruh Variasi Kecepatan Udara Terhadap Performa Heat Exchanger Jenis Compact Heat Exchanger (Radiator) Dengan Susunan Tube Inline Sebagai Pemanas Pada Sistem Pengeringan Batubara

open access: yesJurnal Teknik ITS, 2014
Pengeringan yang dilakukan pada batu bara dengan memanfaatkan udara panas menggunakan konsep heat exchanger. Salah satu heat exchanger yang sering digunakan adalah heat exchanger dengan tipe single row-fin tube yaitu radiator.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Spacecraft active thermal control technology status [PDF]

open access: yes
Four advanced space radiator concepts that were pursued in an integrated effort to develop multi-mission-use and low cost heat rejection systems which can overcome the limitations of current radiator systems are briefly discussed and described.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Liquid sheet radiator [PDF]

open access: yes
A new external flow radiator concept, the liquid sheet radiator (LSR), is introduced. The LSR sheet flow is described and an expression for the length/width (l/w), ratio is presented.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
