Determination of the vector velocity of artificial ionospheric irregularities based on Doppler measurements by the bi-static scatter method of HF radio signals propagating over long radio paths

open access: yesSolar-Terrestrial Physics
During experiments on the modification of the high-latitude ionosphere by high-power HF radio waves of ordinary or extraordinary polarization of the EISCAT/Heating facility (Tromsø, Norway) in 2013, 2016, and 2019, Doppler measurements of diagnostic HF ...

Competing Effects of Radio Frequency Fields on Carbon Nanotube/Resin Systems: Alignment versus Heating

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, 2023
This work shows that radio‐frequency (RF) fields can simultaneously align carbon nanotubes (CNTs) dispersed in a resin and induce Joule heating to cure the resin.

Variable Stiffness Flexure Structures Enabled by Phase‐Change Gallium and Adhesive Interfacial Locking for Soft Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A flexure‐based variable stiffness structure is developed by integrating phase‐change modulation and adhesive interfacial locking of gallium. The design enables a wide stiffness variability, transitioning from soft, flexible behavior to rigid, load‐supporting performance.

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.
