Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Exhibition, 2021
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a hybrid digital-analog radio-over-fiber technique based on cascaded digital PCS-121-QAM modulation and analog pulse code modulation for each radio waveform sample, achieving 12.8 dB SNR gain over A-RoF and 1.38%

Radio Over Fiber for Picocellular Network Architectures
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2007We have studied RF transmission over various multimode fibers (MMFs) and a standard single-mode fiber, targeting picocellular networks for voice, data, and video applications. Bandwidth requirements of MMF links that are based on vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) have been extensively studied.

SNR Improved Digital-Analog Radio-Over-Fiber Scheme for a Millimeter Wireless Fronthaul
Journal of Lightwave TechnologyWe propose a multi-order digital-analog radio-over-fiber (DA-RoF) scheme with different quantization factors at each stage and verify it experimentally in a D-band photonics-aided RoF transmission system.

We propose a non-uniform-quantization digital-analog radio-over-fiber (NUQ-DA-RoF) scheme based on an advanced K-means NUQ algorithm and demonstrate it experimentally in a 2-m 300-GHz photonics-aided wireless fronthaul system.

Phase-Modulated Radio-over-Fiber Systems
Optical Fiber Communication Conference/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference 2013, 2013We present an overview of phase-modulated RoF systems and review methods for downconversion based on phase-modulation. We describe a technique for phase-sensitive detection and demonstrate downconversion and I/Q channelization of a 64-QAM microwave signal.

Upgradable radio-over-fiber transport system
Optical Engineering, 2017An upgradable radio-over-fiber (RoF) transport system is proposed based on a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL)-composed wavelength selector. The passband window of the wavelength selector can be electrically adjusted to select a specific lightwave from multiple injected optical carriers and attenuate the others.

Multidimensional Optimization of a Radio-Over-Fiber Link
IEEE transactions on microwave theory and techniques, 2021Nonlinear distortion and chromatic dispersion are two long-standing limiting factors of radio-over-fiber (ROF) links. Here, we proposed an ROF link with both the two problems mitigated simultaneously.
