Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Selective Benzene Capture by Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 43, 29 May 2026.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) hold significant potential for capturing benzene from air emissions and hydrocarbon mixtures in liquid phases. This capability stems from their precisely engineered structures, versatile chemistries, and diverse binding interactions.

Dual sideband receiver for radio-over-fiber

open access: yesOptics Express
A dual sideband reception scheme for radio-over fiber (RoF) links is introduced. It is shown that the new receiver can increase the performance of noise-limited systems by up to 3 dB (2.97 dB in a lab back-to-back experiment). The receiver scheme exploits the fact that current RoF links do not realize their full potential.

Radio over fiber based networks for the smart grid [PDF]

open access: yes2014 IEEE Global Communications Conference, 2014
In this paper, the application of radio over fiber (RoF) based wireless communications for smart metering and power distribution is introduced. A RoF based network has the potential to enhance both the coverage and spectral efficiency of smart grid wireless networks since its major benefit is adaptability to temporal and spatial traffic variations.
