Protocol parameter selection for fiber-supported IEEE 802.16m networks [PDF]
In this paper we investigate protocol issues that might arise due to the extra fiber propagation delay in fiber-fed IEEE 802.16m networks. Our study indicates that although the fiber delay might affect network performance, an informed choice of protocol ...

Distributed multi-user MIMO transmission using real-time sigma-delta-over-fiber for next generation fronthaul interface [PDF]
To achieve the massive device connectivity and high data rate demanded by 5G, wireless transmission with wider signal bandwidths and higher-order multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is inevitable. This work demonstrates a possible function split option

Abstract One of the most common attacks is man‐in‐the‐middle (MitM) which, due to its complex behaviour, is difficult to detect by traditional cyber‐attack detection systems. MitM attacks on internet of things systems take advantage of special features of the protocols and cause system disruptions, making them invisible to legitimate elements.

Performance Analysis of DP‐QAM‐Based Optical OFDM PON Employing Optical Multicarrier
This work proposes a new hybrid bidirectional standard single mode fiber (SSMF)/free space optical (FSO) dual polarization quadrature amplitude modulation (DP‐QAM) employing optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). An optical multicarrier generator (OMG) source is utilized. The suggested model is simulated using VPI photonics software.

Integration of radio over fiber (RoF) with fiber to the home (FTTH) schemes [PDF]
Two integrating techniques and topologies for fiber optic network systems such as RoF and FTTH have been studied and presented in this project. Two digital signals with data rate 622Mb/s and 1.25Gb/s are considered as the two service signals to be hybrid.

Comparison of two types of 60 GHz photonic millimeter-wave generation and distribution of a 3 Gb/s OFDM signal [PDF]
International audienceWe demonstrate and compare experimentally two set-ups achieving very high data rate (3 Gbps) wireless transmission in the 60 GHz window, both using Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) for reach extension with OFDM signal compliant to the IEEE ...

Radio-over-modes for C-RAN architecture with smart optical resources assignment [PDF]
In this paper we consider a centralized radio access network (C-RAN) architecture with a fully analog fronthaul link between remote radio heads (RRHs) and baseband units (BBUs) based on the radio over fiber (RoF) paradigm. Mode division multiplexing (MDM)
