Evolution of a Dust Void in a Radio-Frequency Plasma Sheath [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2002
The onset and growth of a dust void are investigated in a radio-frequency (rf) sheath of a capacitively coupled argon plasma. A circularly symmetric void emerges and grows with increasing rf power and pressure in the central region of the dust cloud levitating in the sheath.

Resonance Cones in the Field Pattern of a Short Radio Frequency Probe in a Warm Anisotropic Plasma [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
An experimental investigation of the angular field pattern of a small radio frequency probe in a plasma in a magnetic field is described. The field is observed to become very large along a resonance cone whose axis is parallel to the static magnetic ...

Radio frequency plasma production on the TOMAS device

open access: yes, 2023
The study of discharge initiation by an Ion Cyclotron Range of Frequency (ICRF) antenna is of importance for operational scenarios at low magnetic field in e.g., ITER and Wendelstein 7-X.

Influence of a Helium–Nitrogen RF Plasma Jet on Onion Seed Germination

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
This paper presents an experiment using a radio frequency atmospheric pressure plasma jet to generate cold plasma for pre-sowing stimulation of Wolska onion seeds. Impact of the He + N2 afterglow plasma on germination was investigated.

On the character and distribution of lower-frequency radio emissions at Saturn and their relationship to substorm-like events [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
With the arrival of the Cassini spacecraft at Saturn in July 2004, there have been quasi-continuous observations of Saturn kilometric radiation (SKR) emissions.

Transmission coefficient estimation based on antenna voltage standing wave ratio under plasma sheath

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
Radio blackout has confused the aerospace industry for decades. The highly attenuated caused by the plasma sheath is the main cause of radio blackout. The transmission coefficient depends on the relationship between plasma density, collision frequency ...
