The Double Pulsar Eclipses I: Phenomenology and Multi-frequency Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The double pulsar PSR J0737-3039A/B displays short, 30 s eclipses that arise around conjunction when the radio waves emitted by pulsar A are absorbed as they propagate through the magnetosphere of its companion pulsar B.

Reviving Fossil Radio Plasma in Clusters of Galaxies by Adiabatic Compression in Environmental Shock Waves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We give for a plasma with a history of several expansion and contraction phases an analytical model of the evolution of a contained relativistic electron population under synchrotron, inverse Compton and adiabatic energy losses or gains.

High-power radio-frequency plasma source [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 1986
A high-power radio-frequency plasma source was built and tested for an antenna frequency of 2.45 MHz. A puff valve fed hydrogen gas into a plasma chamber made from 4-in.-diam Pyrex tubing. A helical antenna was wound directly around this chamber. The plasma source was surrounded by a magnetic bucket which used a longitudinal line-cusp geometry.

Electron density diagnostics in atmospheric pressure radio frequency dielectric barrier discharge and discharge with bare electrode [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Electron densities in two types of atmospheric pressure radio frequency plasma sources: dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) and discharge with bare electrode (DBE) are investigated by analysis of Stark broadening of Hydrogen Balmer (Hβ) lines.

Influence of a Helium–Nitrogen RF Plasma Jet on Onion Seed Germination

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
This paper presents an experiment using a radio frequency atmospheric pressure plasma jet to generate cold plasma for pre-sowing stimulation of Wolska onion seeds. Impact of the He + N2 afterglow plasma on germination was investigated.

Transmission coefficient estimation based on antenna voltage standing wave ratio under plasma sheath

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
Radio blackout has confused the aerospace industry for decades. The highly attenuated caused by the plasma sheath is the main cause of radio blackout. The transmission coefficient depends on the relationship between plasma density, collision frequency ...

Fine structures of solar radio type III bursts and their possible relationship with coronal density turbulence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Solar radio type III bursts are believed to be the most sensitive signatures of near-relativistic electron beam propagation in the corona. A solar radio type IIIb-III pair burst with fine frequency structures, observed by the Low Frequency Array (LOFAR ...
