Atomic-nitrogen production in a radio-frequency plasma source
Optics Letters, 1993The first high-resolution study, to our knowledge, of the optical emission from an Oxford Applied Research MPD21 nitrogen-plasma source is reported. The spectroscopic results clearly show that the MPD21 nitrogen-plasma source generates an appreciable flux of nitrogen atoms.

Radio-frequency heating of fusion plasmas
1998VTT Energy co-ordinates the national FFUSION research programme and the Finnish activities in the European fusion programme. Finnish fusion research was integrated into the European programme by the contract of association between Tekes and Euratom, which defines the research areas of the Association Euratom-Tekes.

Radio-frequency plasma transducer for use in harsh environments
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2007We describe a compact transducer used to generate and modulate low-intensity radio-frequency atmospheric pressure plasma (RF-APP) for high temperature gap measurement and generation of air-coupled ultrasound. The new transducer consists of a quarter-wave transmission line where the ground return path is a coaxial solenoid winding.

Operating a radio-frequency plasma source on water vapor
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2009A magnetically enhanced radio-frequency (rf) plasma source operating on water vapor has an extensive list of potential applications. In this work, the use of a rf plasma source to dissociate water vapor for hydrogen production is investigated. This paper describes a rf plasma source operated on water vapor and characterizes its plasma properties using ...

Radio-frequency opacity of a nonuniform plasma
Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 1965Abstract The validity of a radiative transfer model applied to radio wave propagation in a nonuniform plasma is investigated with Maxwell field correlation functions. It is found that Oster's quasi-particle model of photon propagation in a general dispersive medium yields a different dependence of the absorption coefficient on refractive index than ...

Experimental test of models of radio-frequency plasma sheaths
Applied Physics Letters, 1997The ion current and sheath impedance were measured at the radio-frequency-powered electrode of an asymmetric, capacitively coupled plasma reactor, for discharges in argon at 1.33–133 Pa. The measurements were used to test the models of the radio frequency sheath derived by Lieberman [IEEE Trans. Plasma Sci.
