The Radio-Frequency Driven Plasma Sheath: Asymptotics and Analysis
SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 2003Summary: This paper considers the dynamics of a radio-frequency driven plasma consisting of ions and electrons. The method of matched asymptotic expansions is used to derive the dynamics in bulk quasi-neutral plasma, transition, and sheath regions. Furthermore, a constructive existence theorem is presented for solutions of the system governing sheath ...

Resonances of Radio Frequency Probe in a Plasma
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1966An RF probe experiment was carried out with a low density plasma, the resonances of the probe impedance were studied. The resonances were observed in a frequency range between the sheath-plasma resonance and the plasma frequencies. The mechanism of these additional resonances is discussed.

Plasma Paramagnetism in Radio-Frequency Fields
Physical Review Letters, 1979A study by experiment, simulation, and theory has found that a plasma responds paramagnetically to the external rf magnetic field applied perpendicular to the static magnetic field with frequency $\ensuremath{\omega}l{\ensuremath{\omega}}_{m}$, ${\ensuremath{\omega}}_{m}$ being the Alfv\'en ion cyclotron frequency.

Effects of radio frequency waves on plasmas
Radiation Effects and Defects in Solids, 2013The interaction of radio frequency waves as it propagates through a plasma medium – has fascinated the plasma physicists for decades. The ionosphere is crucial for radio wave propagation.

Radio-frequency fields in magnetoactive plasma
Journal of Applied Physics, 1974Electric field componenets produced by a single-turn current sheet concentric with a finite magnetoactive plasma cylinder are calculated for frequencies corresponding to resonant peaks in the series loading resistance near the lower hybrid resonance. The radial electric fields are found to be quite large and to penetrate well into the plasma.

Plasma parameters of a radio frequency discharge
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1990A low-frequency (100 kHz) radio frequency discharge has been characterized by making time-resolved measurements of the basic plasma parameters, including the electron energy-distribution function. Measurements obtained when operating with H2, D2, and Ar are compared.

LiNbO3 exposed to radio-frequency plasma
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1998Abstract Radio-frequency (27.12 MHz) glow discharge in H 2 and O, have been used for surface modification of LiNbO 3 wafers. The properties of plasma modified surface layers were dependent on the gas pressure and radio frequency (RF) input power. At pressures below 1 Torr of H 2 and input powers of 1–10 W/cm 3 , a low-resistance layer was created

A plasma cathode for a radio-frequency gun
Instruments and Experimental Techniques, 2008A plasma ferroelectric cathode is used to form electron beams with a high pulse charge and a high charge in an electron bunch in an rf electron gun of a 10-cm wavelength range. The design of the cathode is described, and the results of calculations of the densities of the cathode-emitted and the gun-outputted currents are presented.

The Radio-Frequency Confinement and Acceleration of Plasmas
1967Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on the radio-frequency (rf) confinement and acceleration of plasmas. In 1956, the Soviet physicist Veksler pointed out that the force exerted on plasma by an rf electromagnetic field could be quite substantial.
