Evidence for Gravitational Lensing in FRB 20190320B: A Potential Lens Mass of ∼420 Solar Masses

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Due to their millisecond-duration pulses and high flux, fast radio bursts (FRBs) are ideal probes for detecting low-mass gravitational lensing signals, as their distinctive characteristics make them highly sensitive to subtle time delays and lensing ...

Screen‐Printed Flexible Piezoelectric Force Sensor Array with Electromagnetic Interference Shielding

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article introduces a flexible screen‐printed piezoelectric sensor array designed for low‐frequency healthcare applications such as tactile sensing and cardiovascular monitoring. The device integrates interface electronics enabling the simultaneous acquisition of up to 128 signals, along with flexible EMI shielding that significantly reduces noise ...

Constraints on Fast Radio Burst Population from the First CHIME/FRB Catalog with the Hierarchical Bayesian Inference

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Fast radio bursts (FRBs) have emerged as one of the most dynamic areas of research in astronomy and cosmology. Despite increasing number of FRBs having been reported, the exact origin of FRBs remains elusive.

A tale of two populations: Rotating Radio Transients and X-ray Dim Isolated Neutron Stars

open access: yes, 2006
We highlight similarities between recently discovered Rotating Radio Transients and X-ray Dim Isolated Neutron Stars. In particular, it is shown that X-ray Dim Isolated Neutron Stars have a birthrate comparable to that of Rotating Radio Transients.

Bimetallic (NiFe) and Trimetallic (NiFeCr) Nanoalloys from Metal Oxides Using a Microwave Hydrogen Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

A Catalog of Local Universe Fast Radio Bursts from CHIME/FRB and the KKO

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
We present the first catalog of fast radio burst (FRB) host galaxies from CHIME/FRB Outriggers, selected uniformly in the radio and the optical by localizing 81 new bursts to 2″ × ∼ 60″ accuracy using CHIME and the k’niʔatn k’l ⌣ stk’masqt Outrigger ...

Removing Homocoupling Defects in Alkoxy/Alkyl‐PBTTT Enhances Polymer:Fullerene Co‐Crystal Formation and Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...

The RRAT Trap: Interferometric Localization of Radio Pulses from J0628+0909

open access: yes, 2012
We present the first blind interferometric detection and imaging of a millisecond radio transient with an observation of transient pulsar J0628+0909. We developed a special observing mode of the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) to produce correlated

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Sudden Polarization Angle Jumps of the Repeating Fast Radio Burst FRB 20201124A

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
We report the first detection of polarization angle orthogonal jumps, a phenomenon previously only observed from radio pulsars, from a fast radio burst (FRB) source FRB 20201124A.
