Simultaneous Localization of Multiple Unknown and Transient Radio Sources Using a Mobile Robot [PDF]

open access: closedIEEE Transactions on Robotics, 2012
We report system and algorithm developments that utilize a single mobile robot to simultaneously localize multiple unknown transient radio sources. Because of signal source anonymity, short transmission durations, and dynamic transmission patterns, the robot cannot treat the radio sources as continuous radio beacons.

Radio Non-Detection of the Currently Outbursting Transient Source in NGC 6440

open access: green, 2017
We report follow-up VLA radio observations of NGC 6440, which has recently shown evidence of transient X-ray activity (ATel #10821, #10826). Our VLA observations occurred on 2017 Oct 11, with scans on source between 01:07:09 - 02:48:18 UTC (MJD = 58037.0466 - 58037.1169), in X band (8 - 12 GHz).

Deep optical and radio searches for a quiescent counterpart to the optical transient source OTS 1809+31

open access: closedThe Astrophysical Journal, 1989
Hudec (1987) has reported the detection of three bright transient optical images from the same celestial location localized to alpha(1950) = 18 h 9 m 26.29 s + or - 0.03 s, delta (1950) = +31 deg 23 arcmin 19.7 arcsec + or - 0.6 arcsec. This paper reports the result of a deep CCD search in four colors undertaken to find the quiescent counterpart of the

Transient and variable radio sources in the LOFAR sky: an architecture for a detection framework

open access: green, 2011

The radio luminosity of persistent X-ray binaries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We summarise all the reported detections of, and upper limits to, the radio emission from persistent (i.e. non-transient) X-ray binaries. A striking result is a common mean observed radio luminosity from the black hole candidates (BHCs) in the Low/Hard X-
