Enhancing CAR‐T Cell Efficacy in Solid Tumors by Inhibiting CCL5/VEGF‐Mediated Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that CAR‐T cells in solid tumors produce CCL5, which paradoxically induces VEGF and angiogenesis to promote tumor growth. Blocking CCL5/VEGF signaling—through gene knockout, or the CCR5 inhibitor maraviroc—significantly enhances the antitumor efficacy of CAR‑T therapy (the diagram was created in Biorender).

Influence of the variation in radiographic technique on the digital radiographic image reading in interproximal alveolar bone resorption evaluation [PDF]

open access: yesRGO: Revista Gaúcha de Odontologia, 2009
Objective: To analyze digital radiographic images using the resources available in the Digora digital radiograph system (Soredex, Helsinki, Finland), and comparing it with real images of the open surgical site, varying the angles of radiographs taken ...

Comparison of the accuracy of apex locator, digital radiography, and cone-beam computed tomography in root canal working length determination in teeth with external root resorption: An in vitro study

open access: yesDental Research Journal
Background: The aim of this study was to compare the accuracy of apex locator, digital periapical radiography, and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) for determining the root canal working length (WL) in teeth with external root resorption (ERR ...

A Biomimetic Lubricant Captures Hyaluronic Acid In Situ to Regenerate Cartilage: From Bench to Bedside

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
(a) The outstanding lubricative properties of natural articular cartilage arise from a composite coating composed of HA, lubricin, and phospholipids at its surface. Notably, lubricin facilitates the enrichment of synovial HA onto cartilage surfaces, and HA complexes with phospholipids, a key component to maintain extremely low friction under high ...

Performance of dual-energy subtraction in contrast-enhanced mammography for three different manufacturers: a phantom study

open access: yesEuropean Radiology Experimental
Background Dual-energy subtraction (DES) imaging is critical in contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM), as the recombination of low-energy (LE) and high-energy (HE) images produces contrast enhancement while reducing anatomical noise.

Bamboo‐Like Whiskers‐Reinforced Bioceramics Accelerate Large Segmental Bone Regeneration via Dual Modulation of Type‐H Vessels and Osteoinduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract image of bamboo‐like whisker‐reinforced Ca‐P bioceramics accelerating large segmental bone regeneration. ABSTRACT Regenerative repair of segmental bone defect remains a major clinical challenge. The conventional mental implants suffer from mechanical strength mismatch and long‐term foreign bodies presence.

Digital radiographic image enhancement for weld defect detection using smoothing and morphological transformations

open access: yes, 2012
Accurate inspection of welded materials is important in relation to achieve acceptable standards. Radiography, a non-destructive test method, is commonly used to evaluate the internal condition of a material with respect to defect detection. The presence
