Boosting Sensory Nerve‐to‐Bone Interactions Enhances Hedgehog Mediated Calvarial Bone Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Boosting sensory nerve activity via TrkA agonism strongly accelerates calvarial bone repair in adult mice. Furthermore, single‐cell RNA sequencing and neuron–bone interactome analyses identify these sensory neurons as a direct neural source of Hedgehog pathway ligands. Consequently, these ligands drive osteoblast differentiation of skeletal progenitors,

Aptamer‐Directed Porous DNA Nanocomposite Hydrogel for Active Pulp Preservation: Immunomodulation, Stem Cell Recruitment and Reparative Dentinogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an injectable DNA‐based porous hydrogel integrating catechol motifs and targeting aptamers for pulpitis management. Upon in situ crosslinking, the scaffold actively recruits endogenous dental pulp stem cells, restores redox homeostasis, and modulates immune responses.

Multi-scale morphological image enhancement of chest radiographs by a hybrid scheme

open access: yesJournal of Medical Signals & Sensors, 2015
Chest radiography is a common diagnostic imaging test, which contains an enormous amount of information about a patient. However, its interpretation is highly challenging. The accuracy of the diagnostic process is greatly influenced by image processing algorithms; hence enhancement of the images is indispensable in order to improve visibility of the ...

Drug‐Induced Cuproptosis Defines the Therapeutic Window of Celecoxib in Intervertebral Disc Degeneration via the HSP90‐RBX1 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals the dual role of celecoxib in intervertebral disc degeneration. While low concentrations are protective, high concentrations induce toxicity by upregulating HSP90, which synergizes with USP15 to deubiquitinate and stabilize RBX1. This leads to degradation of COMMD1/ATP7B, copper dyshomeostasis, and ultimately, cuproptosis.

Seed viability detection using computerized false-color radiographic image enhancement

open access: yes, 1994
Seed radiographs are divided into density zones which are related to seed germination. The seeds which germinate have densities relating to false-color red.

A Bone Marrow–Mimetic Hydrogel Enables Dual‐Phase Hemostasis and Vascularized Osteogenesis for Cranial Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic, fiber‐reinforced hydrogel (FE‐PDA@Fib/Gel‐TG) that enables dual‐phase cranial defect repair. The system provides: instant hemostasis in the early stage, and sustained co‐delivery of pro‐angiogenic and osteogenic signals for synergistic vascularized bone regeneration.

Mixing‐Driven Defects and Composition Evolution in Multi‐Material Metal Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Operando synchrotron X‐ray imaging coupled with high‐fidelity multiphysics modeling uncovers how inter‐material mixing reshapes keyhole dynamics and drives distinct pore‐formation pathways in multi‐material laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). Composition‐dependent instabilities trigger defects, whereas rescanning suppresses porosity and homogenizes Cu ...

Radiographic Image Quality Enhancement by the Use of Copper Filters

open access: yes, 2014
In x-radiography, filters are often used in order to improve the overall image quality. Filters achieve this by making the x-ray beam have less energy spread, resulting in a cleaner image.

Phantom-based analysis of variations in automatic exposure control across three mammography systems: implications for radiation dose and image quality in mammography, DBT, and CEM

open access: yesEuropean Radiology Experimental
Background Automatic exposure control (AEC) plays a crucial role in mammography by determining the exposure conditions needed to achieve specific image quality based on the absorption characteristics of compressed breasts.

Effectiveness of a hybrid emergency room system in the management of acute ischemic stroke: a single-center experience

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
IntroductionHybrid emergency room systems (HERSs) have shown promise for the management of severe trauma by reducing mortality. However, the effectiveness of HERSs in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) remains unclear.
