Influence of Thyroid on Radiophosphorus Metabolism in Fish [PDF]

open access: possibleNature, 1960
INFORMATION concerning the endocrinological regulation of mineral metabolism in fishes is lacking. The problem is particularly interesting because the parathyroid gland which regulates the normal calcium and phosphorus content within the body in higher vertebrates is supposed to be absent in fishes.

THE TREATMENT OF BONE METASTASES WITH PARATHORMONE FOLLOWED BY RADIOPHOSPHORUS

American Journal of Roentgenology, 1967
1. A combination of parathyroid hormone and radioactive phosphorus was given to 8 patients with multiple metastatic deposits in the bone.2. The theoretic principles governing the choice of parathormone and radiophosphorus are discussed.3. All patients reacted to the parathormone and developed a rebound phase upon its withdrawal.

Parathormone-potentiated radiophosphorus therapy in prostatic carcinoma

Urology, 1973
To augment the effectiveness of radioactive phosphorus (32P) in the treatment of osseous metastases secondary to prostatic carcinoma, 32 patients were given a preliminary course of parathormone. The sudden withdrawal of the hormone permits maximum absorption of the radiophosphorus in the artificially unsaturated bone. Immediate amelioration occurred in

Diagnostic Applications of Radiophosphorus for Malignant Neoplasms in Otorhinolaryngology

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1960
The author made a fundamental and clinical investigation to utilize radiophosphorus P32 as a diagnostic indicator for malignant neoplasms in otorhinolaryngology. In the preliminary study phosphorus distribution in normal and cancerous tissues was observed by measuring their radioactivity. The majority of the tissues bearing malignant neoplasms absorbed

Distribution of radiophosphorus in the long bones of adult rabbits

Experientia, 1952

The positron-spectrum emitted by radiophosphorus 1532P

Physica, 1940
Abstract Cloud-chamber measurements were carried out, in order to investigate the intensity and energy-distribution of the positrons, emitted by a source of radiophosphorus 15 32 P. On the assumption, that the positrons are due to the materialisation of the kinetic energy of the fast β-particles, the coefficient of internal conversion for this ...
