Uniform radius and regular stratifications
In this paper we investigate how germs of real functions can change under deformation. In particular we look at deformations of germs of isolated singularities from R_n to R_k (n >= k) and the relation with there natural stratification in some tame ...

In this research, ZrC coatings are evaluated against various counterprobes at the microscale using novel super‐stiff atomic force microscopy cantilevers. The chemical composition of the coating is shown to be an important factor influencing coating hardness and Young's modulus, while surface roughness, counterprobe hardness, and surface energy are the ...

Ni‐base superalloys produced using additive manufacturing (AM) have a different response to heat treatments when compared to their conventional counterparts. Due to such unpredictability, various alloys with industrial interest are currently overlooked in most prior AM research.

Strengthening of spectral radius, numerical radius, and Berezin radius inequalities
Suppose $\mathcal{H}_1, \mathcal{H}_2, \ldots, \mathcal{H}_n$ are arbitrary complex Hilbert spaces, and ${\bf A}=[A_{ij}]$ is an $n\times n$ operator matrix with $A_{ij}\in \mathcal{B}(\mathcal{H}_j, \mathcal{H}_i).$ We show that $w({\bf A}) \leq w\left(\begin{bmatrix} a_{ij} \end{bmatrix}_{i,j=1}^n \right),$ where $w(\cdot)$ denotes the numerical ...

Additive manufacturing technologies like laser powder‐bed fusion offer great design freedom and individualization of products down to a batch size of one. However, parts fabricated with this technology suffer from poor quality. Acoustic assistance during the build process can minimize these drawbacks.

A generalization of spectral radius, numerical radius, and spectral norm
The author defines three quantities, \(\rho\) (A), r(A), and \(\| A\|\), as scalar functions of a matrix A. These are \(\ell_ p\) norms of tuples formed respectively from the eigenvalues of A, the diagonal of a unitary similarity of A (that is, \(UAU^*)\), and the diagonal of a matrix unitarily equivalent to A (that is, UAV), where U, V are to be ...
