1.5V rail-to-rail programmable-gain CMOS amplifier

open access: yesESSCIRC 2004 - 29th European Solid-State Circuits Conference (IEEE Cat. No.03EX705), 2004
A 1.5V programmable-gain differential amplifier is implemented using a novel design technique for operating closed-loop amplifier circuits at very low supply voltages. It is based on the use of quasi-floating gate transistors, avoiding issues encountered in true floating-gate structures such as the initial floating-gate charge, offset drift with ...

A Proof‐of‐Concept Assessment of a Novel Wearable Eyelid Muscle Device: A Pre‐Clinical Animal Cadaver Study for Eyelid Closure Restoration

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article introduces a soft wearable eyelid sling device incorporating a hydraulic soft artificial muscle (SAM) for achieving complete closure of an eyelid. The SAM is driven by a cam mechanism that provides a displacement profile closely matched with those of a healthy eyelid.

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

Numerical analysis of rail joint in a vertical applied load and determining the possible location of joints

open access: yesForces in Mechanics, 2022
In the railway industry, rail joints are the critical element where more stress is developed, and due to that catastrophic failure occurs. This study focuses numerical analysis of rails in a vertical load and identify the stresses generated on the ...

3D‐Printing Aided Rapid Prototyping of Pretensioned Tensegrity Structures for Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Printing, injection molding, and assembly (PMA) is a method for rapid prototyping mesoscale, topologically complex, and tensioned tensegrity structures. In combination with PMA method, two mold design strategies: modular mold and compact channel layout, enable efficiency and scalability for tensegrity fabrication.
