Influence of speed of rail flaw detection on the reliability of its results
The system of non-destructive testing of rails during their operation on the railroad network of the Russian Federation is based on the use of removable and mobile means of flaw detection. The increase in the volume of control by mobile means in recent years is explained by their higher productivity due to the higher speed of control.

A Study on Ultrasonic Detection of Flaws in Welds of Rails
During manufacture and in service, various defects might emergence in rails. Some defects are volume ones, and others are planar ones, like facula, greyness, non-welded together and fatigue crack. plane defects are very dangerous. They not only reduce the effective section of rail, but also bring on stress concentration.

Linearized MFL Model for Embedded Flaw Detection in Rails
Numerical models simulating magnetic flux leakage (MFL) phenomenon in ferromagnetic materials are nonlinear in nature and hence require excessive computational effort. This paper describes an approach for developing an equivalent linear model (ELM) where the ferromagnetic region is appropriately partitioned into different domains with each domain being

Integrated Intelligent System for Rail Flaw Detection Vehicle
Ultrasonic testing is widely used to detect rail internal fatigue damage in large-scale rail flaw detection vehicles. However, the existing domestic ultrasonic system architecture platform has the phenomenon of data congestion and computer crash when it is used in the detection of complex railway sections, which leads to the missing detection of ...

Analysis and Flaw Recognition Application of 70o Probe Echoes for Rail Flaw Detection Vehicles
This paper delves into the impact of abnormal echoes at the rail head on flaw recognition resulting from the central 70° probes on rail flaw detection (RFD) vehicles. Using B-scan data showcasing such 70° probe echoes near a transverse crack at the rail base on a rail flaw detection calibration track, this study elucidated the ultrasonic propagation ...
