Spatial depth for data in metric spaces
Abstract We propose a novel measure of statistical depth, the metric spatial depth, for data residing in an arbitrary metric space. The measure assigns high (low) values for points located near (far away from) the bulk of the data distribution, allowing quantifying their centrality/outlyingness.

Pandemic Geographies of Home: Domestic Thresholding in Response to COVID‐19
Short Abstract With the home at the forefront of political and public health responses to COVID‐19, the thresholds between domestic space and the world beyond acquired a new significance in people's everyday lives. This paper introduces the concept of ‘thresholding’ to explore the ways in which internal and external thresholds are understood and ...

Gauge corner and flange root degradation estimation from rail, wheel and track geometry
A methodology to predict gauge corner and flange root degradation in terms of rolling contact fatigue (RCF) and wear from measured rail, wheel and track geometries by so-called meta-models is presented. The methodology sets out from a parameterisation of

Prediction model for wheel profile wear and rolling contact fatigue
A lifetime prediction tool for railway wheels and rails should be able to predict both wear and rolling contact fatigue (RCF), which are the two main deterioration phenomena.
