Dynamic effect of high speed railway traffic loads on the ballast track settlement [PDF]
The traditional ballast track structures are still being used in high speed railways lines with success, however technical problems or performance features have led to non-ballast track solution in some cases.

Balancing tracks and trees: Assessing railroad impact on Brazilian biodiversity
The Brazilian West–East Integration Railway (FIOL) aims to boost the national economy by improving commodity transport; however, it crosses three of Brazil's most biodiverse and fragile regions: the Caatinga, Cerrado and Atlantic Forest. Using digitised plant records and land‐use analyses, our study reveals significant vegetation loss within the ...

Study on Performance Optimization and Feasibility of No.9 Turnout with 1520 mm Gauge in China
To address the issues of poor geometric dimension retention, short component lifespan, and heavy maintenance workload of the 1520 mm gauge 50 kg/m rail No.9 turnout, a new design was proposed for the 1520 mm gauge 60 kg/m rail No.9 turnout.

Railway Track Monitoring System
For the protection and proximity of railway networks it is substantial to Promptly detect and identify faults in the railway tracks. In this paper, railway track fault diagnosis is approximated from the vertical and lateral acceleration using a MPU6050.
