Adaptive Responses of Tropical Crops: A Multi‐Scale Omics Integrated Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tropical crops integrate genomic, morphological, physiological, and ecological adaptations to thrive under extreme and variable environments. This review highlights how natural selection, domestication, and breeding shape stress resilience, resource‐use strategies, and productivity in sugarcane, banana, cassava, rubber and oil palm, offering new routes

Simulation of Gash Model to Rainfall Interception of Pinus tabulaeformis

open access: yesForest Systems, 2014
Aim of study: In order to test the adaptability of revised Gash analytical model to canopy interception of Pinus tabulaeformis plantation, determine local parameters in the model, and analyze the sensitivity of the parameters to the simulated ...

Partial Phase‐Separation in the Initial Growth Stage of Exsolution‐Active SrTi0.95‐xNi0.05NbxO3‐δ Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phase separation emerges during the initial growth of heavily Ni‐ and Ni,Nb‐co‐doped STO thin films, leading to preferential accumulation of Ni and embedded NiOx nanoinclusions in thicker films. Nb co‐doping partially suppresses the ordering of these embedded structures, comprising about 20% of all Ni ions.

INTERSEPSI DAN ALIRAN BATANG TANAMAN KOPI DENGAN BERBAGAI NAUNGAN DI SUMBERMANJING WETAN, MALANG

open access: yesJTSL (Jurnal Tanah dan Sumberdaya Lahan), 2020
The current climate change has an impact on crop production, especially coffee plants. Rainfall is one of the climate elements that influences the process of crop cultivation, because of its role in the availability of water crops.

Assessment of rainfall interception, soil moisture dynamics and seasonal headwaters in a micro-catchment of Western ghats

open access: yesWater Science, 2023
The aim of this study is to assess the canopy rainfall interception, surface detention storage, and soil moisture fluctuation in a micro-catchment of a coffee plantation. Field measurements were carried out using 15 funnel-type ordinary rain gauges in an

Rainfall interception loss by corn crop

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
Abstract One factor that influences the water balance on earth is the presence of the rain factors. The Hydrological cycle is a process of water that is evaporated and if the atmosphere allows, water will fall as rain. Interception is an important factor in the hydrological cycle. With the process of interception, rain water that reaches

How Competitive Is Myanmar's Rice Sector? A Comparison of Production Costs and Efficiency

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper analyzes the cost competitiveness of rice production in Myanmar by examining production costs, cost efficiency, and the potential effect of improving cost efficiency on the country's global competitiveness. To achieve this, we conduct a comparative analysis of production costs among major rice‐producing countries and estimate the ...

Regional Differences in U.S. Consumer Preferences for Native Woody Shrubs With Varying Aesthetic Characteristics

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Native plants offer a variety of aesthetic (e.g., fall colour, fruit, flowers) and functional benefits (e.g., pollinator friendly, wildlife friendly, water management). How these benefits influence consumer choice and perceived value of native versus introduced plants is not well understood.

Simplified Interception/Evaporation Model

open access: yesHydrology, 2021
It is known that at the event scale, evaporation losses of rainfall intercepted by canopy are a few millimeters, which is often not much in comparison to other stocks in the water balance.

Weather Attention in Online Discourse and Price Uncertainty in Agricultural Futures Markets

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Weather is a central determinant of production risk in agricultural markets, but markets respond not only to weather conditions themselves, but also to how those conditions are noticed, framed, and interpreted in public discourse. In this setting, real‐time online weather discussions may shape price uncertainty by influencing how market ...
