Fiscal Policy Regimes in Resource‐Rich Economies
ABSTRACT We analyse fiscal policy in resource‐rich economies using a novel Bayesian regime‐switching panel model. The identified regimes capture pro‐ or countercyclical fiscal behaviour by allowing regime‐specific shifts in the average fiscal stance, while the switches between the regimes have the interpretation of changes in fiscal policy.

During the period 1901–2024, the dominant proportion of compound dry‐warm extremes in annual, June–July–August (JJA), and December–January–February (DJF) occurrences was the highest among the four types of compound precipitation and temperature extremes across global land areas, accounting for 40.1%, 50.3%, and 28.0%, respectively.

Rainfall Interception by Sacramento's Urban Forest
A one-dimensional mass and energy balance model was developed to simulate rainfall interception in Sacramento County, California. The model describes tree interception processes: gross precipitation, leaf drip, stem flow, and evaporation. Kriging was used to extend existing meteorological point data over the region.

Spatial and Temporal Patterns of Extreme Hourly Rainfall in the Hawaiian Islands
The extreme rainfall trends in Hawaiʻi were revealed by hourly rainfall data: Across islands, Kauaʻi and Hawaiʻi Island had larger events at a return period. Annual maximum series of 15 gauges showed significant positive trends. While extreme rainfall trends show increases or decreases regionally, the trends varied with rainfall duration.
