We characterize the PLTL lectin from Photorhabdus laumondii, which adopts a unique TNF‐like fold. Binding assays reveal a preference for branched histo‐blood group oligosaccharides. Protein crystallography uncovers a novel hexameric assembly and identifies key residues involved in carbohydrate recognition.

From bacterial predators to partners: phages in agriculture
Summary Bacteriophages, viruses that infect bacteria, are critical players for shaping the taxonomic and functional composition of plant‐associated microbiomes. Yet, their roles in plant health remain overlooked, along with their implications for sustainable agriculture.

Induction of Systemic Resistance by Trichoderma Asperellum against Bacterial Wilt of Tomato Caused by Ralstonia Solanacearum [PDF]
Trichoderma asperellum was used as a biological control agent against bacterial wilt disease caused by Ralstonia solanacearum. The present investigation is focused on the role of defense- related enzymes in imparting resistance to tomato against ...

Kinetics and mechanism of oxidation of erythro-series pentoses and hexoses by N-chloro-p-toluenesulfonamide [PDF]
The kinetics and mechanism of oxidation of D-glucose, D-mannose, D-fructose, D-arabinose, and D-ribose with chloramine-T in alkaline medium were studied. The rate law, rate = k Chloramine-T] Sugar] HO-](2), was observed.
