Theoretical study of Raman fiber laser and random fiber laser

AOPC 2017: Laser Components, Systems, and Applications, 2017
We present results on Raman fiber laser and random fiber laser. We theoretically analyzed the optical conversion efficiency in core and cladding pumped Raman fiber lasers. For cladding pumped Raman fiber laser, we change the cladding area and core area ration, fiber length, reflectivity of output FBG, Raman gain for improving the laser efficiency.

High Power Raman Fiber Lasers

2017
The power scaling of Raman fiber lasers in the last decade is reviewed. The Raman fiber sources have utilized schemes of simple laser oscillator, master oscillator power amplifier, and pump and signal integrated amplifier to achieve higher output. Motivated by various scientific applications, high-power narrow-linewidth Raman fiber amplifiers have ...

Raman fiber lasers as pumps for Raman amplification

SPIE Proceedings, 2002
This article describes Raman fiber lasers and their application as pumps to a Raman amplified optical communication system. Single wavelength, multiwavelength and dual-order devices are described. The advantages of Raman fiber lasers compared to semiconductor diodes are also discussed.

High-power synchronously pumped femtosecond Raman fiber laser

Optics Letters, 2015
We report a high-power synchronously pumped femtosecond Raman fiber laser operating in the normal dispersion regime. The Raman laser is pumped by a picosecond Yb(3+)-doped fiber laser. It produces highly chirped pulses with energy up to 18 nJ, average power of 0.76 W and 88% efficiency.

Mid-Infrared Raman Fiber Lasers

2017
Stimulated Raman scattering has long been used to bridge the gap between the rare-earth emission bands. Since the Raman gain spectrum is fixed solely by the fiber material and the pump wavelength, these sources can also be designed to operate in the MIR spectral region to meet the current application needs in medicine, the defence & security, and ...

Revolver Hollow-Core Fibers and Raman Fiber Lasers

Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2018
Hollow-core silica fiber with optical losses of ∼1 dB/m at the wavelength of 4.4 μm is demonstrated. Based on this revolver fiber 4.4-μm fiber Raman laser is realized with output average power of 250 mW and quantum conversion efficiency as high as 36 %.

Short-pulse excimer-laser-pumped fiber Raman laser

Optical Fiber Communication, 1987
Stimulated Raman scattering in optical fibers has been studied mainly in the near-IR and visible regions. In recent years, UV grade optical fibers with small Rayleigh scattering have been developed; consequently, UV Raman laser oscillations have been demonstrated with nitrogen1-3 and excimer1,4 laser pumping.

Fiber Raman laser pumped by a Nd:YAG laser

Hyperfine Interactions, 1987
We have pumped a fiber Raman laser with a cw mode-locked Nd:YAG laser operating at 1319 nm and generated pulses as short as 160 fsec using soliton pulse shaping in the fiber. We have also constructed a completely integrated oscillator loop using a fiber optic coupler and fusion splicing.
