Fiber lasers with regular and random distributed feedback [PDF]
We review our recent results on fiber lasers with distributed feedback based on π-shifted or random fiber Bragg gratings, and random index structures inscribed by femtosecond pulses in singlemode or multicore/multimode fibers.

Recent advances and applications of random lasers and random fiber lasers
Progress in Quantum Electronics, 2021Abstract Random Lasers (RLs) and Random Fiber Lasers (RFLs) have been the subject of intense research since their first experimental demonstration in 1994 and 2007, respectively. These low coherence light sources rely on multiple scattering of light to provide optical feedback in a medium combining a properly excited gain material and a scattering ...

Random Fiber Lasers and Applications
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference 2015, 2015Recent advances in research and applications of random fiber lasers, which are substantially different with conventional fiber lasers due to their unique features of modeless and temperature-insensitivity, are reviewed systematically.

THEORY OF A RANDOM FIBER LASER
Журнал Экспериментальной и Теоретической Физики, 2014We develop the theory explaining the role of nonlinearity in generation of radiation in a fiber laser that is pumped by external light. The pumping energy is converted into the generating signal due to the Raman scattering supplying an effective gain for the signal.

Random fiber Bragg grating Raman fiber laser
Optics Letters, 2014We demonstrate for the first time to our knowledge a Raman random fiber laser (RRFL) based on a long random fiber Bragg grating (RFBG-RRFL). Unlike other recently demonstrated random fiber lasers that rely on incoherent Rayleigh scattering feedback, the present scheme uses randomly distributed phase shifts inside a fiber-meter long Bragg grating as a ...

Theoretical study of Raman fiber laser and random fiber laser
AOPC 2017: Laser Components, Systems, and Applications, 2017We present results on Raman fiber laser and random fiber laser. We theoretically analyzed the optical conversion efficiency in core and cladding pumped Raman fiber lasers. For cladding pumped Raman fiber laser, we change the cladding area and core area ration, fiber length, reflectivity of output FBG, Raman gain for improving the laser efficiency.

Random Laser with Erbium-Doped Fiber and fs-Laser Introduced Random Fiber Grating
2018 Asia Communications and Photonics Conference (ACP), 2018A novel half cavity random fiber laser is demonstrated by using erbium-doped fiber as gain media, a fs- laser introduced random fiber grating to provide random distributed feedback and a strong chirped-fiber Bragg grating to form half-cavity configuration. A relatively low threshold power of 33 mW is achieved for 980 nm pump.

Thulium-doped fiber random laser using random fiber grating for random feedback
2021 19th International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN), 2021We report on a Thulium-doped fiber random laser which uses a random fiber grating for distributed random feedback. The random fiber grating fabricated by using a femtosecond laser provides enhanced Rayleigh scattering in random feedback fiber so the total fiber length of the Thulium-doped fiber random laser is greatly reduced. A high-reflectivity fiber

We demonstrate that in fiber-coupled random laser, the threshold energy is twofold reduced and the slope efficiency is fivefold increased when the tip of the fiber is relocated from the surface to the depth of the powder volume. High absorption efficiency, 85%, and high conversion efficiency of population inversion to stimulated emission, 90%, make ...
