Polarization-modulated random fiber laser

Laser Physics Letters, 2016
In this letter, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a polarization-modulated random fiber laser (RFL) for the first time. It is found that the output power of the half-opened RFL with polarized pumping is sensitive to the state of polarization (SOP) of the Stokes light in a fiber loop acting as a mirror.

Quasi-kilowatt random fiber laser

Optics Letters, 2019
The random distributed-feedback Raman fiber laser (RRFL) is a new approach to obtain a high-power laser. In this Letter, we report a RRFL with quasi-kilowatt output power for the first time based on a half-open cavity. It consists of a piece of a large-mode-area passive fiber with a core diameter of 20 μm and a high-reflectivity fiber Bragg grating ...

Random distributed feedback fiber laser pumped by an ytterbium doped fiber laser

Optik, 2014
Abstract A random distributed feedback fiber laser operating at 1115 nm has been demonstrated experimentally in standard communication optical fibers by using a LD-pumped Yb-doped fiber laser as the pump source. We have studied the effect of different fiber spans on this new type of random fiber laser output power.

1.36-kW Spectral-Narrowing Fiber Laser Seeded by Random Fiber Laser

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2019
A single-mode 1.36-kW output power fiber amplifier with 0.22-nm full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) is realized by employing a master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) configuration, seeded by a random fiber laser (RFL). We demonstrated an approach of narrowing the emission spectrum of the fiber amplifier by lengthening the passive fiber in the seed ...

Parallel random fiber Bragg gratings in cladding for a narrow linewidth random fiber laser

Optics Letters
Using the fs-IR laser point-by-point inscription method, parallel-cladding random fiber Bragg gratings (Parallel-CLRFBGs) were fabricated in a single-mode fiber (SMF) as a novel, to the best of our knowledge, filtering device for random fiber lasers (RFLs).

Random fiber laser directly pumped by a high-power laser diode

Optics Letters, 2013
A random lasing based on Rayleigh scattering (RS) in a passive fiber directly pumped by a high-power laser diode (LD) has been demonstrated. Owing to the RS-based random distributed feedback (RDFB) the low-quality LD beam (938 nm) is converted into the high-quality laser output (980 nm). Because of the relatively low excess above the threshold with the
