Random raman fiber laser based on a twin-core fiber with FBGs inscribed by femtosecond radiation [PDF]
Narrowband Raman lasing in a polarization-maintaining two-core fiber (TCF) is demonstrated. Femtosecond point-by-point inscription of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) in individual cores produces a half-open cavity with random distributed feedback.

Genetic algorithm optimization of broadband operation in a noise-like pulse fiber laser
The noise-like pulse regime of optical fiber lasers is highly complex, and associated with multiscale emission of random sub-picosecond pulses underneath a much longer envelope.

Turbulence Hierarchy in a Random Fibre Laser [PDF]
Turbulence is a challenging feature common to a wide range of complex phenomena. Random fibre lasers are a special class of lasers in which the feedback arises from multiple scattering in a one-dimensional disordered cavity-less medium.

Tunable random polymer fiber laser
We have demonstrated the realization of on-line temperature-controlled random lasers (RLs) in the polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) nanoparticles (NPs) as well as Pyrromethene 597 (PM597) laser dye, Fe3O4/SiO2 NPs as well as PM597, and only PM597 doped polymer optical fibers (POFs), respectively.

Polymer nanofibers as novel light-emitting sources and lasing material [PDF]
Polymer micro- and nano-fibers, made of organic light-emitting materials with optical gain, show interesting lasing properties. Fibers with diameters from few tens of nm to few microns can be fabricated by electrospinning, a method based on electrostatic

Multi-parameter sensor based on random fiber lasers
We demonstrate a concept of utilizing random fiber lasers to achieve multi-parameter sensing. The proposed random fiber ring laser consists of an erbium-doped fiber as the gain medium and a random fiber grating as the feedback.

Synchronised laser chaos communication: statistical investigation of an experimental system [PDF]
The paper is concerned with analyzing data from an experimental antipodal laser-based chaos shift-keying communication system. Binary messages are embedded in a chaotically behaving laser wave which is transmitted through a fiber-optic cable and are ...
