Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

The Anderson-Mott Transition as a Random-Field Problem
The Anderson-Mott transition of disordered interacting electrons is shown to share many physical and technical features with classical random-field systems. A renormalization group study of an order parameter field theory for the Anderson-Mott transition

Metastates in disordered mean-field models: Random field and hopfield models
We rigorously investigate the size dependence of disordered mean field models with finite local spin space in terms of metastates. Thereby we provide an illustration of the framework of metastates for systems of randomly competing Gibbs measures. In particular we consider the thermodynamic limit of the empirical metastate 1/N ∑N ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

One-dimensional random field Kac's model: weak large deviations principle [PDF]
We prove a quenched weak large deviations principle for the Gibbs measures of a Random Field Kac Model (RFKM) in one dimension. The external random magnetic field is given by symmetrically distributed Bernoulli random variables. The results are valid for

Scaling of the Random-Field Ising Model at Zero Temperature
The exact determination of ground states of small systems is used in a scaling study of the random-field Ising model. While three variants of the model are found to be in the same universality class in 3 dimensions, the Gaussian and bimodal models behave

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
