SPATIALLY SELECTIVE SPECKLE-CORRELOMETRY OF RANDOM INHOMOGENEOUS MEDIA: SIMULATION RESULTS [PDF]
The paper deals with the results of Monte Carlo simulation of light propagation in a media with complex structure and dynamics by an original speckle-correlometry approach based on ring-like apertures and localized source of probe light.

A SIRS Epidemic Model Incorporating Media Coverage with Random Perturbation
We investigate the complex dynamics of a SIRS epidemic model incorporating media coverage with random perturbation. We first deal with the boundedness and the stability of the disease—free and endemic equilibria of the deterministic model.

Ladder costs for random walks in Lévy random media
We consider a random walk $Y$ moving on a Lévy random medium, namely a one-dimensional renewal point process with inter-distances between points that are in the domain of attraction of a stable law. The focus is on the characterization of the law of the first-ladder height $Y_{\mathcal{T}}$ and length $L_{\mathcal{T}}(Y)$, where $\mathcal{T}$ is the ...

This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Numerical Simulation of Intensity Fluctuations in Random Laser Systems [PDF]
The spectral behavior of a random lasing system (TiO2 powder dispersed in Rhodamine 6 G dye solution) is calculated using numerical calculations. The total integrated intensity is calculated for different incident optical intensities, particle densities,

Acute caffeine treatment protects the developing retina from ischemia‐induced cell death
Caffeine reduces cell death in the developing retina under ischemia (OGD). This effect does not involve BDNF upregulation or antioxidant pathways (NRF2/VEGF). Neuroprotection occurs mainly through adenosine A2A receptor antagonism, decreasing glutamate release and excitotoxicity, highlighting caffeine's potential as an acute neuroprotective agent in ...
