Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Hierarchy of KPZ limits arising from directed random walk models in random media

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
We consider a generalized model of random walk in dynamical random environment, and we show that the multiplicative-noise stochastic heat equation (SHE) describes the fluctuations of the quenched density at a certain precise spatial location in the tail ...

Random Laser Action in Dye-Doped Polymer Media with Inhomogeneously Distributed Particles and Gain

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
The properties of random lasing are investigated for bubble-structure (BS) dye-doped polymer random media in which non-scattering and no-gain regions are distributed.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Fluctuations in a diffusive medium with gain

open access: yes, 2013
We present a stochastic model for amplifying, diffusive media like, for instance, random lasers. Starting from a simple random-walk model, we derive a stochastic partial differential equation for the energy field with contains a multiplicative random ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Bi-functional nonlinearities in monodisperse ZnO nano-grains - Self-consistent transport and random lasing

open access: yes, 2014
We report a quantum field theoretical description of light transport and random lasing. The Bethe-Salpeter equation is solved including maximally crossed diagrams and non-elastic scattering. This is the first theoretical framework that combines so called

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Social Media Comment Management using SMOTE and Random Forest Algorithms

open access: yesInternational Journal of Networked and Distributed Computing (IJNDC), 2018
Comment posting is one of the main features found in social media. Comment responses enrich the social network function especially for how-to content. In this work, we focus on cooking video clips which are popular among users. Various questions found in
