Multi-excited random walks on integers [PDF]
We introduce a class of nearest-neighbor integer random walks in random and non-random media, which includes excited random walks considered in the literature.

Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Stochastic homogenization of maximal monotone relations and applications
We study the homogenization of a stationary random maximal monotone operator on a probability space equipped with an ergodic dynamical system. The proof relies on Fitzpatrick's variational formulation of monotone relations, on Visintin's scale ...

From diffusion in compartmentalized media to non-Gaussian random walks
In this work we establish a link between two different phenomena that were studied in a large and growing number of biological, composite and soft media: the diffusion in compartmentalized environment and the non-Gaussian diffusion that exhibits linear ...

Superfluid $^3$He in globally isotropic random media
Recent theoretical and experimental studies of superfluid $^3$He in aerogels with a global anisotropy, e.g., due to an external stress, have definitely shown that the A-like phase with an equal spin pairing (ESP) in such aerogel samples is in the ABM (or,

This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Transition asymptotics for reaction-diffusion in random media
We describe a universal transition mechanism characterizing the passage to an annealed behavior and to a regime where the fluctuations about this behavior are Gaussian, for the long time asymptotics of the empirical average of the expected value of the ...
