Numerical methods for boundary value problems on random domains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this thesis, we consider the numerical solution of elliptic boundary value problems on random domains. The underlying domain is modelled via a random vector field which is given by its mean and its covariance.

Lucky numbers : spatial neglect affects physical, but not representational, choices in a Lotto task. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Spatial neglect can be characterized by a “magnetic attraction” towards the right side of a visual stimulus array and a selection of stimuli from that hemispace.

Exploring number space by random digit generation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
There is some evidence that human subjects preferentially select small numbers when asked to sample numbers from large intervals "at random”. A retrospective analysis of single digit frequencies in 16 independent experiments with the Mental Dice Task ...

Numerical Framework for Semi-Device-Independent Quantum Random Number Generators

open access: yes, 2022
Quantum random number generator (QRNG) is one of the most widely applied branches in quantum cryptography. Among all QRNG schemes, semi-device-independent (semi-DI) QRNG is quite promising, achieving high randomness generation rate with few assumptions ...

Thermal transport analysis for radiative entropy generated flow of Maxwell nanomaterial: Finite difference approach

open access: yesJournal of Radiation Research and Applied Sciences
Recently scientists have shown their keen interest for methods which minimize the loss of significant energy during irreversible process. Entropy generation is directly associated with degraded energy in a thermodynamic system.

Secure On-Off Transmission in mmWave Systems With Randomly Distributed Eavesdroppers

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
To meet ever-increasing mobile data traffic demands for next-generation wireless communication systems, the plentiful spectrum resources in millimeter wave (mmWave) band have been exploited to improve the system capacity. This paper investigates physical

Exploring Stability and Chaos in the Fractional-Order Arneodo System via Grünwald–Letnikov Scheme

open access: yesMathematics
This paper investigates the dynamical properties of the fractional-order Arneodo system using a Grünwald–Letnikov-based numerical discretization. Fractional-order operators introduce memory and hereditary effects, enabling a more realistic description ...

Efficacy and Safety Analysis of Roxarestat in Regulating Renal Anemia in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of roxarestat versus recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in the management of renal anemia in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Methods This was a prospective, open‐label, randomized controlled trial.

Design and Analysis of a Quadratic Lorenz-like Attractor for Pseudo-Random Number Generation

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal
This study introduces and analyzes a novel quadratic Lorenz-like attractor and demonstrates its application as a pseudo-random number generator (PRNG). A theoretical and numerical investigation of the system dynamics is conducted, including equilibrium ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
