Testing a hardware random number generator using NIST statistical test suite
Random number generators are required for the operation of cryptographic information protection systems. For а correct application of the generator in the field of information security, it is necessary that its output sequence to be indistinguishable ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Accuracy in random number generation [PDF]
The generation of continuous random variables on a digital computer encounters a problem of accuracy caused by approximations and discretization error. These in turn impose a bias on the simulation results. An ideal discrete approximation of a continuous distribution and a measure of error are proposed.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Optical quantum random number generator
A physical random number generator based on the intrinsic randomness of quantum mechanics is described. The random events are realized by the choice of single photons between the two outputs of a beamsplitter.

Fully Integrated Vacuum-Based Quantum Random Number Generator
Quantum random number generators play a crucial role in securing high-demand information contexts by producing true random numbers. Nevertheless, the large volume and high cost limit their widespread use.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Distributed random number generation [PDF]
Abstract In a functional program, a simple random number generator may generate a lazy list of random numbers. This is fine when the random numbers are consumed sequentially at a single point in the program. However, things are more complicated in a program where random numbers are used at many locations, such as in a large simulation.
