Developing and Evaluating a Laboratory‐Based Frailty Index for the Prediction of Long‐Term Health Outcomes in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to construct and evaluate the first laboratory‐based frailty index (FI‐Lab) for predicting adverse outcomes in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and to compare its predictive ability to that of an existing clinical FI. Methods We used data from a single‐center prospective cohort of adult patients with SLE whose baseline visit ...

Geometric Algorithms for k-NN Poisoning

open access: yesComputing in Geometry and Topology
We propose a label poisoning attack on geometric data sets against k-nearest neighbor classification. We provide an algorithm that can compute an εn-additive approximation of the optimal poisoning in n 22^{O(d+k/\ε)} time for a given data set X in Rd ...

Trajectories of Physical Function in Canadian Children With Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We describe trajectories of physical function in children newly diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and identify trajectories with persisting functional impairments and associated baseline characteristics. Methods We included patients enrolled in the Canadian Alliance of Pediatric Rheumatology Investigators (CAPRI) Registry ...

Real‐World Longitudinal Data on the Impact of Hydroxychloroquine Blood Level Monitoring on Lupus Outcomes: Results of a Prospective Longitudinal Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is a cornerstone therapy in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), but the weight‐based dosing does not account for clinical factors that can introduce individual variability in drug metabolism and clearance. We leveraged longitudinal data from a prospective SLE cohort to identify clinical factors that predict ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

DC-RST: a parallel algorithm for random spanning trees in network analytics

open access: yesApplied Network Science
The Mantel Test, discovered in the 1960s, determines whether two distance metrics on a network are related. More recently, DimeCost, an equivalent test with improved computational complexity, was proposed. It was based on computing a random spanning tree

A Multi-Stage Method for Connecting Participatory Sensing and Noise Simulations

open access: yesSensors, 2015
Most simulation-based noise maps are important for official noise assessment but lack local noise characteristics. The main reasons for this lack of information are that official noise simulations only provide information about expected noise levels ...

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Multifractal Analysis of Infinite Products of Stationary Jump Processes

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2010
There has been a growing interest in constructing stationary measures with known multifractal properties. In an earlier paper, the authors introduced the multifractal products of stochastic processes (MPSP) and provided basic properties concerning ...
