ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Integral Histogram with Random Projection for Pedestrian Detection. [PDF]
In this paper, we give a systematic study to report several deep insights into the HOG, one of the most widely used features in the modern computer vision and image processing applications.

Bidirectional random projections
This paper analyzes bidirectional random projections for ordinary least squares (OLS) regression under the fixed design setting. Let $(X,Y) \in \mathbb{R}^{n \times p} \times \mathbb{R}^n$ be a sample and $R \in \mathbb{R}^{n_1 \times n}, W \in \mathbb{R}^{p \times p_1}$ be two properly distributed random projections. We develop an expected excess loss

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Experiments with Random Projection
Recent theoretical work has identified random projection as a promising dimensionality reduction technique for learning mixtures of Gausians. Here we summarize these results and illustrate them by a wide variety of experiments on synthetic and real data.
