Machine Learning‐Assisted Inverse Design of Soft and Multifunctional Hybrid Liquid Metal Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A machine learning framework is presented for inverse design of synthesizable multifunctional composites containing both liquid metal and solid inclusions. By integrating physics‐based modeling, data‐driven prediction, and Bayesian optimization, the approach enables intelligent design of experiments to identify optimal compositions and realize these ...

Random Telegraphic Signals with Fractal-like Probability Transition Rates

open access: yesSymmetry
Many physical processes feature random telegraph signals, e.g., a time signal c(t) that randomly switches between two values over time. The present study focuses on the class of telegraphic processes for which the transition rates are formulated by using fractal-like expressions. By considering various restrictive hypotheses regarding the statistics of

Dual‐Mode Magnetic Elastomer for On‐Demand Motion and Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐mode magnetic elastomer is introduced, enabling DC field‐driven programmable actuation and AC field‐driven magnetothermal degradation. GHz‐range magnetic fields generate ultrafast heating of magnetic nanoparticles that activates cleavage of the silicone elastomer matrix.

Chaos from turbulence: stochastic-chaotic equilibrium in turbulent convection at high Rayleigh numbers

open access: yes, 2009
It is shown that correlation function of the mean wind velocity generated by a turbulent thermal convection (Rayleigh number $Ra \sim 10^{11}$) exhibits exponential decay with a very long correlation time, while corresponding largest Lyapunov exponent is
