Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Backtracking and Mixing Rate of Diffusion on Uncorrelated Temporal Networks

open access: yesEntropy, 2017
We consider the problem of diffusion on temporal networks, where the dynamics of each edge is modelled by an independent renewal process. Despite the apparent simplicity of the model, the trajectories of a random walker exhibit non-trivial properties ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Biased random walks on random graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
These notes cover one of the topics programmed for the St Petersburg School in Probability and Statistical Physics of June 2012. The aim is to review recent mathematical developments in the field of random walks in random environment.

Critical dimensions for random walks on random-walk chains [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 1996
The probability distribution of random walks on linear structures generated by random walks in $d$-dimensional space, $P_d(r,t)$, is analytically studied for the case $ \equiv r/t^{1/4}\ll1$. It is shown to obey the scaling form $P_d(r,t)= (r) t^{-1/2} ^{-2} f_d( )$, where $ (r)\sim r^{2-d}$ is the density of the chain.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Random walks with random velocities

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2008
We consider a random walk model that takes into account the velocity distribution of random walkers. Random motion with alternating velocities is inherent to various physical and biological systems. Moreover, the velocity distribution is often the first characteristic that is experimentally accessible. Here, we derive transport equations describing the

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Random Search Walks Inside Absorbing Annuli

open access: yesEntropy
We revisit the problem of random search walks in the two-dimensional (2D) space between concentric absorbing annuli, in which a searcher performs random steps until finding either the inner or the outer ring.

Discrete Random Walks on One-Sided ``Periodic'' Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2003
In this paper we consider discrete random walks on infinite graphs that are generated by copying and shifting one finite (strongly connected) graph into one direction and connecting successive copies always in the same way.
