Application of Hybrid-Electric Propulsion to ‘Very Light Jet’ Business Aircraft

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
The following paper investigates the feasibility of hybrid-electric propulsion (HEP) for a very light jet (VLJ) business aircraft based on predictions of battery performance for the 15-year timeframe to 2040.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Modeling long-range dependent Gaussian processes with application in continuous-time financial models

open access: yes
This paper considers a class of nonstationary Gaussian processes with possible long-range dependence (LRD) and intermittency. The author proposes a new estimation method to simultaneously estimate both the LRD and intermittency parameter.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Higher-Order Kernel Semiparametric M-Estimation of Long Memory [PDF]

open access: yes
Econometric interest in the possibility of long memory has developed as a flexible alternative to, or compromise between, the usual short memory or unit root prescriptions, for example in the context of modelling cointegrating or other relationships and ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Exact Local Whittle Estimation of Fractionally Cointegrated Systems [PDF]

open access: yes
Semiparametric estimation of a bivariate fractionally cointegrated system is considered. The new estimator employs the exact local Whittle approach developed by Shimotsu and Phillips (2003a) and estimates the two memory parameters jointly with the ...

Overviews of Optimization Techniques for Geometric Estimation

open access: yes, 2013
We summarize techniques for optimal geometric estimation from noisy observations for computer vision applications. We first discuss the interpretation of optimality and point out that geometric estimation is different from the standard statistical ...

ESR1 methylation and ESR1 mutations in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and paired plasma‐cfDNA of advanced breast cancer patients: A feasibility proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...
