Improvement of Range Estimation with Microphone Array

open access: yesCybernetics and Information Technologies, 2017
This paper presentsanew approach for the three-dimensional (3-D) localization of sound sources. An acoustic camera uses an angular beamforming to measure the Direction of Arrival (Do A) of an incoming signal, to localize the emission source. The acoustic

On joint range and velocity estimation in detection and ranging sensors.

open access: yes, 2016
Radar and sonar provide information of both range and radial velocity to unknown objects. This is accomplished by emitting a signal waveform and computing the round trip time and Doppler shift. Estimation of the round trip time and Doppler shift is usually done separately without considering the couplings between these two object related quantities ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Specification Testing in Nonlinear Time Series with Long-Range Dependence [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper proposes a model specification testing procedure for parametric specification of the conditional mean function in a nonlinear time series model with long–range dependence.

Adaptive pointwise estimation in time-inhomogeneous time-series models [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper offers a new method for estimation and forecasting of the linear and nonlinear time series when the stationarity assumption is violated. Our general local parametric approach particularly applies to general varying-coefficient parametric ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
