Effectiveness of Resistance Intradialytic Exercise Compared to Aerobic Intradialytic Exercise for Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

Grading of Raw Jute Fibres Using Criteria Importance through Intercriteria Correlation (CRITIC) and Range of Value (ROV) Approach of Multi-criteria Decision Making

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2022
In modern BIS system, a scientific approach is adopted for grading the raw jute fibers based on six apposite physical properties, namely fiber strength, defect, root content, fineness, color, and bulk density, of which the latter two parameters are still

Serum Myonectin Levels Are Positively Associated With Physical Function and Lower Frailty‐Related Limitation in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

The effect of uncertainty in a fuzzy Input-Output analysis of water consumption applied to Macedonia

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Slovenica, 2013
This paper reconsiders the reliability of the results obtained by Hristov et al. (2012) from the input-output analysis of water consumption, by taking into account the effect of uncertainty inherent in the data. The imprecision and uncertainty is studied

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

An Assessment of Indifference Threshold Values to Achieve Full Objective Indifference Threshold-Based Attribute Ratio Analysis

open access: yesMathematics
Multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) models are moving toward being data-oriented. Meanwhile, MCDM models’ totalitarian reliance on experts’ preferences may reduce the accuracy of results in real-world challenges.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Adaptive scenario-based multi-criteria approach to assessing investment potential in agribusiness

open access: yesπ-Economy
This paper presents a comparative analysis of SAW, TOPSIS, and GDR multi-criteria aggregation methods, applied to the construction of a synthetic investment attractiveness index (SIAI). The relevance of this study is determined by the need to enhance the
