A Class of Simple Distribution-free Rank-based Unit Root Tests (Revision of DP 2010-72)
We propose a class of distribution-free rank-based tests for the null hypothesis of a unit root. This class is indexed by the choice of a reference density g, which needs not coincide with the unknown actual innovation density f.

A Note on Joint Estimation of Common Cycles and Common Trends in Nonstationary Multivariate Systems [PDF]
We provide a new method for jointly consistently estimating common trends and cycles in unit root nonstationary multivariate systems. We concentrate on the MA representation of the differenced data and we jointly impose the reduced rank restriction for ...

How to measure consumer's inconsistency in sensory testing?
Consumer sensory testing is the basis for determining directions of product development in the food industry. However, while compliance assessment by trained and expert assessors is well developed, few information is available on testing consumer ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Influence function and asymptotic efficiency of the affine equivariant rank covariance matrix. [PDF]
Visuri et al (2001) proposed and illustrated the use of the affine equivariant rank covariance matrix (RCM) in classical multivariate inference problems.

Qualitative Robustness of Rank Tests
An asymptotic notion of robust tests is studied which is based on the requirement of equicontinuous error probabilities. If the test statistics are consistent, their robustness in Hampel's sense and robustness of the associated tests turn out to be equivalent. Uniform extensions are considered. Moreover, test breakdown points are defined.

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Robust Unit Root and Cointegration Rank Tests for Panels and Large Systems [PDF]
This study develops new tests for unit roots and cointegration rank in heterogeneous time series panels using methods that are robust to the presence of both incidental trends and cross sectional dependency of unknown form. Furthermore, the procedures do

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.
