Rank-Sum Tests for Dispersions

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1960
This paper deals with non-parametric two-sample tests on dispersions. Two samples, $X$- and $Y$-samples of $m$ and $n$ independent observations from populations with continuous cumulative distribution functions $F(u)$ and $G(u)$ respectively, are considered.

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

The Effect of Match Running Performance on Team Success in Professional Soccer

open access: yesResearch in Sport Education and Sciences
This study aimed to examine match running performance (RP) in professional soccer teams in terms of success variables. A total of 626 observations obtained via a multicamera tracking system (InStat Ltd.) from a total of 323 matches played by 19 teams in ...

Exactly Distribution-free Inference in Instrumental Variables Regression with Possibly Weak Instruments [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper introduces a rank-based test for the instrumental variables regression model that dominates the Anderson-Rubin test in terms of finite sample size and asymptotic power in certain circumstances. The test has correct size for any distribution of

A Bivariate Signed Rank Test

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1964
Summary Wilcoxon (1945, 1947) proposed a signed rank test for the hypothesis of equality of means in samples of n matched pairs of observations from a bivariate population in (x, y). He stated the exact distribution of the sum (= U  +) of the signed ranks of the positive differences z = x - y, as well as providing some tables of the ...

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

A Class of Simple Distribution-free Rank-based Unit Root Tests (Revision of DP 2010-72) [PDF]

open access: yes
We propose a class of distribution-free rank-based tests for the null hypothesis of a unit root. This class is indexed by the choice of a reference density g, which needs not coincide with the unknown actual innovation density f.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Qualitative Robustness of Rank Tests

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1982
An asymptotic notion of robust tests is studied which is based on the requirement of equicontinuous error probabilities. If the test statistics are consistent, their robustness in Hampel's sense and robustness of the associated tests turn out to be equivalent. Uniform extensions are considered. Moreover, test breakdown points are defined.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
