Some Modified Mean Estimators in Ranked Set Sampling Using a Covariate [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2016
In this paper we modify nonparametric regression-based mean estimators in ranked set sampling using a covariate. We will show that our modified mean estimators perform well in comparison with their leading competitors.

Early Impact of Childhood Opportunity on Neurocognitive Outcomes in Sickle Cell Disease

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neurocognitive impairment is a well‐recognized complication of sickle cell disease (SCD) that begins early in childhood and persists across development. While cerebrovascular injury contributes substantially to risk, neurocognitive deficits are also observed in children without overt or silent cerebral infarctions, suggesting ...

Generalized Power Transformation Estimators in Stratified Ranked Set Sampling using Auxiliary Information

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bio-Resource and Stress Management, 2023
Auxiliary variable is commonly used in survey sampling to improve the precision of estimates. Whenever there is auxiliary information available, the researchers want to utilize it in the method of estimation to obtain the most efficient estimator ...

Psychosocial Functioning After Pediatric Bone Sarcoma: Generic and Survivor‐Specific Outcomes in Adolescent and Young Adult Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric bone sarcoma patients and survivors may experience psychosocial challenges related to childhood cancer after their intensive, body‐altering treatment. This cross‐sectional study aimed to evaluate generic and survivor‐specific psychosocial outcomes in a national cohort of pediatric bone sarcoma patients and survivors, and ...

Bayesian Estimation of Log-Normal Distribution Under Ranked Set Sampling With Missing Data

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this paper, joint Bayesian estimation of two parameters of a log-normal distribution is obtained based on simple random sampling (SRS) and ranked set sampling (RSS) with complete and missing data.

Incidence and Severity of Carboplatin‐Associated Hearing Loss in Children With Cancer Assessed by the SIOP Boston 2012 Ototoxicity Criteria

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Platinum‐based chemotherapy is known to cause severe and debilitating hearing loss, but unlike cisplatin, the true incidence of carboplatin‐induced hearing loss remains unclear. We evaluated functional hearing outcomes in children receiving carboplatin to determine the incidence and severity of ototoxicity. Procedure We identified a

Half Logistic Inverted Nadarajah–Haghighi Distribution under Ranked Set Sampling with Applications

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
In this paper, we present the half logistic inverted Nadarajah–Haghigh (HL-INH) distribution, a novel extension of the inverted Nadarajah–Haghigh (INH) distribution. The probability density function (PDF) for the HL-INH distribution might have a unimodal,

Re‐Irradiation in Pediatric Diffuse Midline Glioma: A Multi‐Institutional Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with recurrent diffuse midline gliomas (DMGs) have limited therapeutic options at recurrence. Re‐irradiation (RT2) may be used at progression, but with uncertainty about the benefit. Methods We conducted a multi‐institutional retrospective study of children aged < 18 with DMG treated at three centers (Toronto, Canada ...

Reproducibility of mean estimators under ranked set sampling

open access: yesFranklin Open
In statistical inferences, the estimation of population parameters using information obtained from a sample is an important method. This involves choosing an appropriate sampling method to collect data.

Association Between Dinutuximab Beta Exposure and Post‐End‐of‐Treatment Survival in Neuroblastoma: A Weighted Patient‐Level Analysis of Three Clinical Studies

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives The association between exposure to dinutuximab beta (DB) and event‐free survival (EFS) or overall survival (OS) of neuroblastoma patients was assessed using data collected during three clinical trials (five cohorts). Methods A systematic review (March 2026) was conducted to identify relevant studies (prospective; registered DB ...
