Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Network Selection: A Method for Ranked Lists Selection

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
We consider the problem of finding the set of rankings that best represents a given group of orderings on the same collection of elements (preference lists). This problem arises from social choice and voting theory, in which each voter gives a preference on a set of alternatives, and a system outputs a single preference order based on the observed ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

A feature selection method of network traffic based on statistic and ranking strategy

open access: yesDianzi Jishu Yingyong, 2018
It is required to select the best features from so many ones in order to avoid the high complexity of the model, the low classification accuracy and efficiency caused by redundant and irrelevant features, if network traffic classification is obtained by ...

Rank-Select Indices Without Tears [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A rank-select index for a sequence $B=(b_1,\ldots,b_n)$ of $n$ bits is a data structure that, if provided with an operation to access $Θ(\log n)$ arbitrary consecutive bits of $B$ in constant time (thus $B$ is stored outside of the data structure), can compute $\mathit{rank}_B(j)=\sum_{i=1}^j b_i$ for given $j\in\{0,\ldots,n\}$ and $\mathit{select}_B(k)

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Understanding goat keepers’ breeding objectives and selection criteria in northwestern Ethiopia: application of participatory own-flock and group-animal ranking experiments

open access: yesCogent Food & Agriculture
Successful implementation of breeding program requires understanding and accommodation of selection criteria. The objective of this study was to investigate the breeding objectives and selection criteria of farmers’ in northwestern Ethiopia.

Spatial residual clustering and entropy based ranking for hyperspectral band selection

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Remote Sensing, 2020
Though the Hyper-spectral images (HSI) are associated with rich spectral information for discriminating the class-specific objects, the high dimensional data generates Hughes effect for additional processing. So, during pre-processing, band Selection (BS)

Moments of a rank vector with applications to selection and ranking

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Statistical Society, Japanese Issue, 1985
Let k populations \(\pi_ i\) be given with a continuous cumulative distribution function \(F_ i(x)\), \(i=1,2,...,k\). Also let \(X_ 1,X_ 2,...,X_ k\) be a set of mutually independent observations from respective populations \(\pi_ 1,\pi_ 2,...,\pi_ k\).

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...
