Machine learning-augmented turbulence modeling for RANS simulations of massively separated flows
We combine data assimilation and machine learning to correct the RANS Spalart-Allmaras turbulence model. The final neural-network contribution is a Boussinesq-correction, rather than a turbulent eddy-viscosity adjustment.

Towards an enhanced protection of attached boundary layers in hybrid RANS/LES methods
A robust strategy for the RANS shielding of attached boundary layers in a hybrid RANS/LES context is presented, addressing two major issues. Firstly, the attached boundary layers must be detected to ensure their RANS treatment, but the original shielding

LES over RANS in building simulation for outdoor and indoor applications: A foregone conclusion?
Large Eddy Simulation (LES) undeniably has the potential to provide more accurate and more reliable results than simulations based on the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) approach.

Influence of thermal effects to pollutant dispersion in idealized street canyon: numerical study
In this work, we numerically investigate the process of atmospheric air pollution at various values of the road temperature in idealized urban canyons. To solve this problem, the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations (RANS) were used.

Facade geometrical details can substantially influence the near-facade airflow patterns and pressures. This is especially the case for building balconies as their presence can lead to multiple separation and recirculation areas near the facades and hence

Completion of a new accelerator-driven compact neutron source prototype RANS-II for on-site use
RIKEN accelerator driven compact neutron source II (RANS-II), a neutron source that is designed to serve as a prototype of a next-generation downsized accelerator-based compact system, has been constructed and has successfully generated neutrons.

RANS Simulation of Local Strong Sandstorms Induced by a Cold Pool with Vorticity
Local strong sandstorms (LSSs) in northwestern China often occur suddenly in tens of minutes during the late afternoon and by dusk. Observations and theoretical studies have shown the trigger role of cold-air pools over desert areas for the occurrence of

Ran is an abundant Ras-like GTPase that was initially characterized for its role in modulating the nucleo-cytoplasmic transport of macromolecules across the nuclear envelope (NE). However, it is also critical for other cellular processes, including mitotic spindle assembly and post-mitotic ...
