Fingerprinting of cauliflower cultivars using RAPD markers

Australian Journal of Agricultural Research, 2004
Randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) was used to investigate genetic relationships among 25 cultivars of cauliflower ( Brassica oleracea var. botrytis L.). Forty decamer primers were examined, among which 15 primers produced polymorphism. Twenty-five polymorphic bands were observed, ranging in size from 428 to 1646 bp.

Genetic Relationships Among Melons Using RAPD Markers

International Journal of Vegetable Science, 2015
ABSTRACTSelection of suitable genotypes resistant to unfavorable environmental and soil conditions and diseases is important to increase melon (Cucumis melo L.) yield. The study was undertaken to determine genetic relationships of melon accessions from Iran and Afghanistan using RAPD markers.

Analysis of plum cultivars with RAPD markers

Journal of Horticultural Science, 1997
SummaryHexaploid and diploid plum cultivars from the collection of Aula Dei (Zaragoza, Spain) were examined by means of RAPDs (random amplified polymorphic DNAs). A high degree of polymorphism was detected and it was possible to distinguish all 31 genotypes by combining the RAPDs patterns of three primers: AD16, AD14 and B1. Genotype-specific RAPDs and

RAPD Marker Diversity among Creeping Bentgrass Clones

Crop Science, 2003
Creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera L.) is currently one of the most desirable grasses for golf courses in temperate regions. Old golf courses often have populations of creeping bentgrass clones that have persisted for many years, possibly surviving since the original construction. Over time, environmental stresses and diseases may cause shifts in

RAPD markers and genetic diversity inPelteobagrus fulvidraco

Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences, 2001
primers whose RAPD reactions are reproductive and with clean bands are selected from 422 primers by using the DNA pools of both male and female Pelteobagrus fulvidraco as templates. These 61 primers can be used as molecular marker for the species identification. We apply 10\|11 primers to proceed RAPD analysis consequently to two groups.

RAPD markers in maize genetic analysis

1993
Genetic markers generated by amplification of random DNA segments using single primers of arbitrary nucleotide sequence were tested for their utility in genetic studies in maize. The amount of template DNA, the Mg2+ concentration and the primer concentration revealed to be the most critical variables to consider for the optimization of amplification ...

Construction of Linkage Maps with RAPD Markers

1997
The idea of using recombinant individuals to measure linkage distance along chromosomes comes from the research of Sturtevant, in 1913, on the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. Since that time, the Drosophila map has become very detailed, consisting of about 4000 mapped genes (Kafatos et al. 1991).

Pseudo-Testcross Mapping Strategy Using RAPD Markers

1997
Genetic linkage maps are powerful tools for detailed genetic analysis. Maps allow dissection of the architecture of polygenic traits by the investigation of the individual genomic segments underlying quantitative variation (QTLs). Mapping information can accelerate selective breeding through marker assisted selection (MAS), especially in organisms with
