Recent decrease in western North Pacific tropical cyclone rapid intensification during June
This study investigates the long‐term tendency in the ratio of rapid intensification (RI) cases to the total number of tropical cyclone cases over the western North Pacific (WNP) during June between 1982 and 2021.

Improved associated conditions in rapid intensifications of tropical cyclones [PDF]
Rapid intensification (RI) of tropical cyclones (TC) is a major error source in TC intensity forecasting. In order to improve the estimates of RI probability, association rules are used to facilitate the process of mining for candidate sets of conditions.

Modulation of tropical cyclone rapid intensification by mesoscale asymmetries
AbstractComputer model simulations are one of the most important tools in current use for understanding tropical cyclone (TC) formation and rapid intensification (RI). These include “idealized” simulations in which a TC‐like vortex is placed in a hypothetical environment with predefined sea surface temperature and vertical profiles of temperature ...

ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

Early Impact of Childhood Opportunity on Neurocognitive Outcomes in Sickle Cell Disease
ABSTRACT Introduction Neurocognitive impairment is a well‐recognized complication of sickle cell disease (SCD) that begins early in childhood and persists across development. While cerebrovascular injury contributes substantially to risk, neurocognitive deficits are also observed in children without overt or silent cerebral infarctions, suggesting ...

ASSIST: Refinement of a Benefits Navigator Intervention Among Low‐Income Pediatric Oncology Families
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Children with cancer living in poverty experience worse survival and quality of life. Interventions connecting low‐income families to benefits (e.g., Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program [SNAP] improve health outcomes; yet nearly 50% of SNAP‐eligible pediatric oncology families are unenrolled.
