Isolation and characterization of bioactive compounds with antibacterial, antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory activities from marine-derived rare actinobacteria, Nocardiopsis sp. SCA21

Microbial Pathogenesis, 2019
A rare actinobacteria strain designated SCA21, producing bioactive metabolites was isolated from marine sediment of Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. Analysis of 16S rRNA sequences suggested that the strain SCA21 belonged to the genus Nocardiopsis.

Understanding the Genomics and Metabolism of Rare Actinobacteria as Potential Sources of New A Antibiotics

Kerbala Journal of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Introduction: There is an urgent requirement to develop novel antimicrobial agents that can counter the rising problem of antibiotic-resistant disease-causing microorganisms. The actinobacteria are a prolific source of natural products, and most of the known antibiotics are produced by these mycelial bacteria. Studies of rare actinobacteria can enhance

Cytotoxic Angucyclines fromAmycolatopsissp. HCa1, a Rare Actinobacteria Derived fromOxya chinensis

Planta Medica, 2011
Two new angucyclines, named (2R,3R)-2-hydroxy-8- O-methyltetrangomycin (1) and (2R,3R)-2-hydroxy-5-O-methyltetrangomycin (2), together with eight known compounds (3-10), were isolated from the culture of Amycolatopsis sp. HCa1, a rare actinobacteria isolated from the gut of Oxya chinensis.
