Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

Papilloma dan Karsinoma Sinonasal

open access: yesJurnal Kesehatan, 2017
Sinonasal papilloma is rare, only 0.5-4% of sinonasal tumors with aetiopathogenesis has not known yet. Sinonasal carcinoma is a rare malignancy, and the most common types are squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.

Neoplastic Parkinsonism: An illustrative case report

open access: yesAnnals of Indian Academy of Neurology, 2013
Non-Hodgkin′s lymphoma of T-cell types are rare neoplasms. Central nervous system metastasis is unusual. We are reporting a patient with peripheral T-cell lymphoma unspecified who had extra nodal metastasis into the brain that manifested with ...

Type II Enteropathy-Associated T-cell Lymphoma: A Rare Report from Iran

open access: yesMiddle East Journal of Digestive Diseases, 2017
Type II enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma (EATL) is a rare disease that is reported from Asia, especially from Taiwan. In this paper, we present a patient from Iran (Arab) with Type II EATL whose disease was not associated with celiac disease or Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection.

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

A rare case of small cell carcinoma of the ovary, hypercalcemic type

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Case Reports
Abstract Small cell carcinoma of ovary, hypercalcemic type (SCCOHT) is an unusual malignant tumor that most commonly affects young women. Unfortunately, it has a very poor prognosis. We describe here an unusual case of a Moroccan young woman with a left ovarian mass and a symptomatic hypercalcemia.

Exploratory Analysis of ELP1 Expression in Whole Blood From Patients With Familial Dysautonomia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Familial dysautonomia (FD) is a hereditary neurodevelopmental disorder caused by aberrant splicing of the ELP1 gene, leading to a tissue‐specific reduction in ELP1 protein expression. Preclinical models indicate that increasing ELP1 levels can mitigate disease manifestations.

Interplay between breathing mode distortion and magnetic order in rare-earth nickelates $R$NiO$_3$ within DFT+$U$

open access: yes, 2017
We present a systematic density functional theory (DFT) plus Hubbard $U$ study of structural trends and the stability of different magnetically ordered states across the rare-earth nickelate series, $R$NiO$_3$, with $R$ from Lu to La.
