Rare decays

open access: yesNuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1990
Recent theoretical and experimental progress on rare decays is summarized, principally for K and B mesons, as discussed in the parallel sessions of this workshop. 51 refs., 6 figs.

Rare Bs→γνν- Decay in Family Nonuniversal Z′ Model

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2015
The rare Bs→γνν- decay with polarized photon is studied in the framework of a family nonuniversal Z′ model. The branching ratio and photon polarization asymmetry to the model parameters are calculated and compared with the Standard Model. Deviations from

Rare kaon decays

open access: yes, 1999
We review some recent theoretical results on rare kaon decays. Particular attention is devoted to establish the short distance (direct CP violating) contribution to K_L => ^0 e \bar{e}. This is achieved by a careful study of the long distance part. As byproduct, we discuss interesting chiral tests.

Development and properties of cadmium and lead tungstate low-background scintillators for double beta decay experiments [PDF]

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2014
Methods of deep purification of natural and isotopically enriched cadmium (Cd, 106Cd, 116Cd), as well as of archaeological lead (archPb), to produce cadmium and lead tungstate crystal scintillators have been developed. The basic stages of development and

Enhancement of new physics signal sensitivity with mistagged charm quarks

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2016
We investigate the potential for enhancing search sensitivity for signals having charm quarks in the final state, using the sizable bottom-mistagging rate for charm quarks at the LHC.

Gamma cascades in gadolinium isotopes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
The compound nucleus model is employed to calculate the $$\gamma $$ γ decay after neutron capture by the gadolinium isotopes $$^{155}$$ 155 Gd and $$^{157}$$ 157 Gd.

First observation and study of the K ± → π 0 π 0 μ ± ν decay

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The NA48/2 experiment at CERN reports the first observation of the K ± → π 0 π 0 μ ± ν decay based on a sample of 2437 candidates with 15% background contamination collected in 2003–2004.

Search for top-quark decays t → Hq with 36 fb−1 of pp collision data at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
A search for flavour-changing neutral current decays of a top quark into an up-type quark (q = u, c) and the Standard Model Higgs boson, t → Hq, is presented. The search is based on a dataset of pp collisions at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV recorded in 2015

Measurement of two-neutrino double electron capture half-life of 124Xe with PandaX-4T

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Detailed studies of two-neutrino double electron capture (2νDEC) is a crucial step towards searching for the neutrinoless mode to explore the Majorana nature of neutrinos.

Rare Decays

open access: yes, 2017
Studies of rare decays play an important role in the search of physics beyond the standard model. New particles may participate in the loop processes and can be probed by seeing any deviations from the standard model predictions. The very rare decay $B_s\to ^+ ^-$ has been observed with the data collected by CMS and LHCb experiments.
