Rare Kaon Decay Experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The status of rare kaon decay experiments is reviewed. With the current generation of experiments now finishing, several exciting new results are available.

Rare decays $B_s\to l^+l^-$ and $B\to Kl^+l^-$ in \the topcolor-assisted technicolor model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We examine the rare decays $B_s\to l^+l^-$ and $B\to Kl^+l^-$ in the framework of the topcolor-assisted technicolor ($TC2$) model. The contributions of the new particles predicted by this model to these rare decay processes are evaluated.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Search for double beta decay of 136Xe to the 0 1 + $$ {0}_1^{+} $$ excited state of 136Ba with PandaX-4T

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We perform a search of double beta decay of 136Xe to the excited state, 0 1 + $$ {0}_1^{+} $$ , of 136Ba (2νββ- 0 1 + $$ {0}_1^{+} $$ ), using the dual-phase xenon detector of PandaX-4T with the first 94.9-day commissioning data.

Highly sensitive bolometers for rare alpha decay studies

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
High resolution detectors able to identify background events are very appealing in the study of rare nuclear processes. Scintillating bolometers featuring simultaneous read-out of heat and scintillation signals, can effectively address this problem ...

Vowel harmony decay in Old Norwegian

open access: yesPapers in Historical Phonology, 2020
Vowel harmony involves the systematic correspondence between vowels in some domain for some phonological feature. Though harmony represents one of the most natural and diachronically robust phonological phenomena that occurs in human language, how and ...

Analysis of rare (B -> K_0*(1430) l^+ l^- decay) within QCD sum rules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Form factors of rare (B -> K_0*(1430) l^+ l^-$ decay) decay are calculated within three-point QCD sum rules, with (K_0* (1430)) being the p-wave scalar meson. The branching ratios are estimated when only short, as well as short and long distance effects,

Rare Muon Decays

open access: yesActa Physica Polonica B, 2013
In this paper, we present a short review of searches for charged lepton flavour violation on the example of rare muon decays. We discuss the evaluation of electron spectrum for muon decay in orbit which is a background process for conversion experiments.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.
