Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Optical Properties of Novel 1,10-Phenanthroline Derivatives Containing 2,6-Diisopropylphenoxy Substituents

open access: yesCrystals
Two phenanthroline derivatives, 2-(2,6-diisopropylphenoxy)-9-phenyl-1,10-phenanthroline and 2,9-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenoxy)-1,10-phenanthroline, were synthesized. The unsymmetrical derivative was obtained in high yield through a sequence combining Suzuki

GENOTYPIC VARIATION IN THE ACCUMULATION OF RARE EARTH ELEMENTS (REE) IN PHALARIS ARUNDINACEA L [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Rare earth elements (REEs) represent a number of economically valuable elements whose increasing demand is closely associated with rapidly growing high-tech sectors such as high-tech electronics and "green energy technologies".

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

Effect of Rare Earth Content on Microstructure and Corrosion Resistance of HRB400 Steel [PDF]

open access: yesTeshugang
The steel rebar with low cost and excellent corrosion resistance were prepared by adding trace lanthanum (La) and cerium (Ce) rare earth elements. The effect of rare earth addition on the microstructure and corrosion resistance of corrosion resistant ...

Rare (Earth) Elements [score]

open access: yesRevista Vortex, 2014
Rare (Earth) Elements is a cycle of works for solo piano. The cycle was inspired by James Dillon’s Book of Elements (Vol. I-V). The complete cycle will consist of 14 pieces; one for each selected rare (earth) element.

The metal resources (METRO) model : a dynamic partial equilibrium model for metal markets applied to rare earth elements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents the METal ResOurces (METRO) model, a partial equilibrium model tailored for metal markets. It allows for a disaggregated representation of the mining sector and endogenous investment in extractive capacities.

The C‐terminal region of KIF26B is indispensable for nephron progenitor condensation and kidney formation in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KIF26B plays an important role in kidney development. We engineered mice lacking the C‐terminal region of KIF26B and found severe kidney defects, including bilateral renal agenesis, similar to full Kif26b knockout mice. The mutation disrupted nephron progenitor condensation and reduced Gdnf‐Wnt11 signaling, showing that the KIF26B C‐terminal region is ...

Effect of Rare Earth Cerium and Yttrium on the High Temperature Oxidation Resistance of Austenitic Heat-resistant Steel [PDF]

open access: yesTeshugang
The addition of trace rare earth elements can significantly enhance the oxidation resistance of alloys, but the action mechanisms of different rare earth elements vary and have not been widely understood.
