Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Molecular characterization of Euphorbia caput-medusae stunt virus: Evidence for the existence of a new genus within the family Geminiviridae [PDF]
Studies focusing on phytoviruses isolated from the wild are rare. Nevertheless, even if those studies remain scarce, it is increasingly accepted that viruses coming from wild plants might play a role on disease emergence and in the functioning of ...

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Temporal variation in the roles of exotic and native plant species in plant–pollinator networks
The role of individual plant species, including those that are rare or invasive, in the structure of plant–pollinator networks will depend on how connected the plants are to pollinator species and when they flower.

Local-scale patterns of genetic variability, outcrossing, and spatial structure in natural stands of Arabidopsis thaliana [PDF]
As Arabidopsis thaliana is increasingly employed in evolutionary and ecological studies, it is essential to understand patterns of natural genetic variation and the forces that shape them.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

More than symbioses : orchid ecology ; with examples from the Sydney Region [PDF]
The Orchidaceae are one of the largest and most diverse families of flowering plants. Orchids grow as terrestrial, lithophytic, epiphytic or climbing herbs but most orchids native to the Sydney Region can be placed in one of two categories.

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
